Habitat

19 February - 5 March 2022

Habitat is the first open call exhibition at Contemporary Six. We recognise the importance of closing the gap between the number of male and female artists currently represented in private art galleries. As such, this show contains work exclusively created by women artists on our chosen theme. We were particularly interested in the dialogue between urban and natural spaces, whether real or imagined. How women live and navigate space in our society is, as always, very topical and we are particularly proud to be able to create this exhibition. We hope you will join us in supporting our chosen artists by attending the Gallery during the exhibition’s run.

Following the call out we were inundated with over 300 submissions. The quality of work was exceptional and after much deliberation we narrowed the list down to 23 artists who we felt hit the brief and best fit with the Gallery. The show is looking very exciting and is the perfect chance for collectors and art lovers alike to become familiar with an excellent group of artists, both established and new.

Habitat runs for two weeks from Saturday 19th February and Saturday 5th March with all works available to purchase at the Gallery and online at www.contemporarysix.co.uk. We will be holding a preview event on Saturday 19th February with a number of the artists in attendance.
