One of Pointon’s favourite subject matters, Piccadilly Train Station is a theme the artist has returned to time and again - in particular, the escalators. Pointon has been painting this subject for over a decade, depicting the transient nature of the figures in motion. Crowds blend and blur into one, a never ending conveyor belt of humanity. Reminiscent of the futurism movement, the artist balances fluid and angular mark making to create a sense of flux.
