This Lapis lazuli was part of a larger piece from turkey - this stone was also sourced in Italy and was originally a surplus piece of a much larger section . When Jane started working on the segment it was more than twice the size but it split in two. One piece that resulted was the torso the other is a small head that Jane is still in the process of finishing.
