Philippe Aird

Philippe Aird was born in Cheadle Heath near Manchester in 1961. As a child, he was taught by the acclaimed Salford artist, L.S. Lowry RA.
In 1983 Philippe graduated from Chelsea College of Art with a BA Hons in Fine Art. He is an accomplished ‘traditional’ painter and has lectured in fine art at Salford University.
Philippe was a pioneer in the use of resins, varnishes and lacquers having worked with these materials for more than twenty-five years.
His main passion lies in multimedia abstract expressionism. Philippe is inspired by organic matter and constructs his paintings with resins and mixed media on canvas. Philippe lives and works in Manchester.
