Jon Burgerman is one of the prominent key artists who traverse the disciplines of urban art, design, illustration and entrepreneurism. His award winning artwork can be seen globally from gallery and bedroom walls to cinema and iPhone screens. His art is instantly recognisable, combining fluid and lyrical lines, with distorted character forms and radiant pop colour schemes. A sense of British self-deprecation, dry humour and modern-day anxiety imbues his work along with an enthusiasm for salad.

Burgerman exhibits internationally and has shown work along side contemporary artists including Banksy, Damien Hirst, Vivienne Westwood and Gerald Scarfe. His work is widely collected and is in the permanent collections of The Victoria and Albert Museum, Nottingham Castle Museum and The Science Museum in London. He gives lectures, public performances and signings and has recently embarked on a pop music project as the band Anxieteam. See the videos of them in action here!

Jon’s Frequently Asked Questions
Is that your real name?

No really, it is! My parents thought it’d be a laugh to call me Jon, what jokers eh? You can only imagine the playground chants I endured.

Who does your drawings?
Mr computer sometimes helps with the colouring in but generally all my drawings are done by a small, highly skilled team of moles. I treat them to a fresh earthworm and bowl of milk for every new drawing they produce – this enables me plenty of time for my much needed midday naps.

How do you like your cornflakes? Soggy or Crunchy?
I definitely prefer them more crunchy than too soggy. It’s a difficult balance to get right but I strive to achieve it every morning.
